A common misunderstanding about airplants, is that they do not need any care at all. Unfortunately, this is not true. Though, relatively they do require very little care. Originally, airplants are able to live from the humidity in the air, which is why they are called so. It is a very strong type of plant, needing less care than most of the other type of houseplants. Airplants have little fuzzy grey/white hairs on their leaves, which are called trichomes. Via these structures, they are able to get the needed nutrients from the air in a very effective way. The humidity in their native areas is much higher than here, which is why airplants do need some care!

How to care for airplants?

Spray your airplant regularly / soak your airplant. Specific information can be found below.
Put your airplant in a bright spot, preferably with air circulation as it needs to dry off after watering
Protect your airplant from frosts at all times
Protect your airplant from direct sunlight (indirect sunlight is the best) 

Soaking method

To make your airplants even more happy, it is recommdened to soak them monthly in a container with water (naturel water is preferred over hard water). Your airplants will suck up the water for a period of time. After 30-60 minutes of soaking, the airplants like to be put in a bright spot with good air circulation to dry off completely. You’ll see the airplants getting their strong and healthy look after that. Very important is the drying off process.

Most plants are marked "on stock" on our web shop. In case of some rare plants that are not so popular among our clients we will place the order at the Manufacturers only after receiving an order for them. This means that the shipping time will be longer with just a few days.

How do all of the above affect plant ordering process?

You will have to wait a maximum of one week before your plants are dispatched. If you will not get an automatic message that your package has been dispatched in 1 or 2 days after your order, it means that the procedure of backordering your plants has started. Please wait until the manufacturers' shipments arrive and you will be notified when your package leaves our warehouse. In some rare cases the manufacturers might inform us that the requested plants are not available. We will contact you on email or phone to agree on replacement of these plants with other similar plants or to refund their value - it will be your choice.

Green Aqua will ship out orders that contain plants on all weekdays. There are some extreme cases in the winter when the low temperatures at external warehouses - or packages left in trucks for the night - will not guarantee the safe shipping of plants. We are using thermo packaging during winters and our experience tells us that 99% of the plants arrive in good condition to our customers.

Important information for summer and winter transport!

We also pay special attention to the proper condition of our plants when ordering our aquarium plants and storing the received plants, including proper tempering and plant fertilizing and care. However, we cannot influence the conditions of home delivery. Therefore, in winter, especially in frosty weather and on hot days in summer, we prefer to buy plants in our store. During home delivery, plants can be damaged because of the extreme weather and time spent in the transport company’s trucks. If you are unsure of your order, our colleagues will be happy to help you with the current transportability of your plants.

Our main shipping provider - GLS is only delivering our packages up until a certain weight. In some extreme cases - involving shipping of big aquariums, furniture - we will calculate a custom shipping cost, after receiving your order. We will only ship the purchased products after you have confirmed this shipping cost with us.
Please be informed, we charge an extra 10 EUR / aquarium on all aquarium orders for special packaging and care within the shipping fee.

Our goal is to deliver the plants as quickly as possible to your address, so we are making regular (two times per week) orders to our manufacturers and will send you the fresh plants with GLS as soon as they arrive to us. We also have a uniquely high stock, with hundreds of plants. Please read our terms and conditions.

SHIPPING OF LIVESTOCK, DANGEROUS GOODS
We would like to inform you that according to the EU regulations we are not allowed to ship live animals or dangerous goods (such as CO2 bottles in example) through our delivery partners. ALWAYS INSPECT PACKAGES FOR DAMAGES!
Please protect your purchase by always inspecting the package right after delivery. In case of visible damages on the exterior of the package you will need to sign a written damage form IN THE PRESENCE of the delivery agent! We can only guarantee replacement or resending of any goods if a written damage form or claims form is filled at the time of the delivery! With seamlessly undamaged packages on the exterior, you have 7 days to report any missing or damaged goods from the interior of the package.
