The EHEIM professionel 4+ – EHEIMs best external filter but now with an integrated ‘emergency’ button.
They have adopted the many advantages of the professional 3 series – powerful performance, optimal energy efficiency, quiet operation, priming aid, safety hose adapter – but they have also improved the technology by incorporating the new ‘Xtender’ button.
In the event the output is reduced due to the fine filter media blocking, the button can be adjusted to redirect the flow. The biological filtration is main-tained and the service interval can be extended by a few days.
- There are 3 sizes available for aquariums up to 250, 350 and 600 litres.
- The models 250 and 350 are also available with an integrated heater as thermo filter (T).
- In addition, the professionel 350e can be electronically controlled from a PC

Each filter has three roles in a planted aquarium. In order of importance:
NITRIFICATION
It is the most important! Toxic and algae-causing ammonia in the aquarium must be decomposed. As fast as possible. Billions of bacteria growing in the filter convert ammonia into nitrite and then nitrate.
WATER CIRCULATION
Nutrients (plant food and CO2) must reach the plants. Solid decomposition products should be kept afloat. Good performance is essential.
WATER TREATMENT
Solid decomposition products must be physically removed from the aquarium and decomposed in a filter or removed during cleaning.
For a filter to fully perform all three roles, it must meet several criteria. Ideally suitable to have a bucket of the right size to store the right amount of filter media. The filter material contained in it must be of adequate quality and variety. The pump in the filter must have sufficient capacity. The filter should be easy to clean so that the cumbersome process does not deter the aquarist from regular maintenance. Plus, the filter needs to be reliable; no one wants to flood a living room or office due to a cracked tap or joint.

In some extreme cases - involving the shipping of big aquariums and furniture - we will calculate a custom shipping cost after receiving your order. We will only ship the purchased products after you have confirmed this shipping cost with us.
Please be informed, we charge an extra 10 EUR / aquarium on all aquarium orders for special packaging and care within the shipping fee.

Please protect your purchase by always inspecting the package right after delivery. In case of visible damages on the exterior of the package, you will need to sign a written damage form IN THE PRESENCE of the delivery agent! We can only guarantee the replacement or resending of any goods if a written damage form or claims form is filled out at the delivery time! With seamlessly undamaged packages on the exterior, you have seven days to report any missing or damaged goods from the interior of the package.
