Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is a decorative foreground plant. In the wild it grows on the banks of rivers and marshes, up to altitudes of over 1,000 m. Its grass-like appearance is similar to Helanthium tenellum, which is why it is sometimes referred to as "false tenellus". You won’t have any problems cultivating this in an aquarium. It prefers cooler temperatures and grows really slowly regardless of whether the water is soft or hard. Radical pruning, as you would a lawn, encourages compact growth. It needs a lot of light.
